Sixth Form to perform 'Puss in Boots'
24/11/2009

Newmarket College Sixth Form are proud to present their own rendition of ‘Puss in Boots', written by Catherine Bennett and Charlotte Martin (two of our teachers) and performed with ‘gusto' by our sixth formers.

All this is being done to help Kapnyeberai School (Kenya) build their own Library. Catherine Bennett has this to say about the school and what is being done to help them.

“This is a project close to my heart as I was a founding member of the library (to be honest I help build it!). After working in Kenya for a year, I realised that there was a whole world that the pupils at Kapnyeberai were missing out on.
At Newmarket College we have a library full of interesting, entertaining and educational books, whereas at Kapnyeberai they don't. Our Sixth Form has collected over 300 books already which we will be sending out to Kenya. The money raised from this year's Panto will pay the immense shipping costs to get these books to Kenya and to Kapnyeberai School, where they will be treasured.

In the past three years, I have seen 2000 books arrive at Kapnyeberai School and can only tell you the delight and pleasure that it brings to those pupils. It has been very moving as a teacher to see my pupils, here, give so generously to young people on the other side of the world.”

So please support the project by coming on either Tuesday 8th or Wednesday 9th December, starting at 7.30pm

Tickets cost £3 for Adults and £2 for students/children

or better still come to both performances! A more entertaining evening you will find hard to find!
